Who is EDG?

We are a full-service Technology company specializing in entertainment for homes and businesses and that encompasses many things- like home theater, outdoor audio video, big screen TVs, sound systems and all the related disciplines needed to create that environment. So that also includes things like high speed networks to support your streaming, automated lighting and shades to set moods, and home control to make all of it work together from your phone or simple voice commands.

That sounds like a lot. Are there some things you don’t do?

Of course. No one is the best at everything. We have really hung our hat on the entertainment side of our industry. What’s the old saying, jack of all trades, master of none? If you need an enterprise grade network with firewalls, we’ll connect you with one of our cyber security partners. If you have need for an executive level security system, we’ll connect you to the best people in that industry who also handle access control and gates. If you want us to manage these projects as part of a larger system in our scope of work, then we can do that too. But we do handle everything from hooking up just the modem the cable company sent you to million-dollar home entertainment systems.

So, what really makes EDG stand out in the market? There’s a lot of companies who do what you do.

Our people and our passion for sure! It’s easy to say but hard to do. For one thing, a managing partner or owner is actively involved with every single project we do. Either from an engineering standpoint, customer relationship point of view, or in project management. Every customer, regardless of the size of the project, gets that kind of attention. We’ve found that most owners of companies our size are removed from the front lines. If you call us, 99% of the time an owner will pick up the phone and 1% of the time it is the answering machine.

As far as our technicians go, we only hire people who truly enjoy the industry. If you have experience but don’t love doing this, EDG is not the home for you. Our work is hard, technical, and requires a great deal of training and a lot of people are qualified, but not passionate. It is a lot easier to be great at anything if you enjoy the work. So absolutely our people are what makes us special. We are cooking with “love” here! If you love music and movies and sports and technology too, then swipe right we’re a match.

So, if I’m a homeowner, how do I get started?

Call us. Text us. Email us. DM on social media. Just don’t fax, I like to save paper and recycle. Let’s have a conversation about your goals and what’s important and how we accomplish those goals. The relationship is more important than the sale, so if we’re not a good fit for you, we’ll recommend someone who is.

If we move forward, there is a design process that is really a collaboration between some incredible industry veterans. Collectively we have every audio, video, lightning, network certification that matters. After that we’ll present you with a proposal and we go from there.

What happens after the project is done?

Like any relationship, we’re in it for the long haul. In some cases, customers will ask for monthly maintenance or tech support because these new technologies need things like firmware updates or perhaps you want to add the newest tech gadget you got for Christmas. Sometimes we don’t hear from people for years until they decide to upgrade their TV. It’s all relative to each person’s needs. Sometimes people just call to talk about the playoffs or new movies. I’ve been in this business for over 25 years and I have quite a few clients who have been with me since year 1.

Anything else you want people to know about EDG?

Culture. EDG is a family operated business. We literally have sons, nephews, nieces, a husband and wife, church members and lifelong friends working here. We support the community through financial contributions, discounts for charities seeking our services and donations of food and toys for organizations in need. We offer best in class products at nearly every price point. We hire veterans and teenagers out of high school to give them work experience and teach them skills they can use forever in the workplace. We do business with people that do business with us. I love what we do, and I’ve bet my livelihood for 25 years that others will too.
